Yes, all our REVO Red Light devices have undergone rigorous third-party testing and validation by LightLab International in Pennsylvania.
While other red light therapy devices on the market may look similar in appearance, the truth is this: unless those manufacturers publicly release transparent, independent test data, you can never be certain about the actual quality, power output, or performance of the products you are purchasing.
Near-infrared light operates at a wavelength range of 800–900 nanometers, which falls just outside the visible light spectrum (400–700 nanometers)—that is why it is invisible to the naked eye. When your NIR LEDs are switched on, you will only be able to see a tiny pink dot or a very faint pinkish glow coming from them. Please rest assured that these LEDs are emitting a substantial amount of light energy, and your REVO Red Light device is functioning exactly as it was designed to.
The most extensively researched mechanism behind red and near-infrared light therapy is the enhancement of mitochondrial energy production in cells. Mitochondria are tiny organelles that serve as the energy powerhouses of every cell in the human body. Red and near-infrared light therapy helps mitochondria generate greater amounts of this vital cellular energy.
The specific photons present in red and near-infrared light interact with a photoreceptor within cells called cytochrome c oxidase. This interaction stimulates the mitochondria to utilize oxygen more efficiently, enabling them to produce increased levels of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Adenosine triphosphate is a complex organic compound that supplies energy to fuel numerous cellular processes, such as muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and chemical synthesis. Present in all living organisms, ATP is often described as the "molecular unit of currency" for intracellular energy transfer. When our cells are supplied with more energy, their overall performance improves—and the body functions better as a result.

REVO Red Light devices are low-risk, general wellness products designed to affect the body through topical heating. REVO Red Light is registered with the FDA, and certain specific red light therapy panels have obtained 510(k) clearance.
Under the 1976 Amendments to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") regulates the marketing of new medical devices (21 U.S.C. § 360c). The FDA classifies devices into one of three categories based on the risk they pose to the public (§ 360c(f); see also 21 C.F.R. § 860.3 (2018)).
Per FDA regulations, marketers cannot sell higher-risk products without premarket approval (PMA) from the FDA—a regulatory pathway involving rigorous review of safety and efficacy data. For more details, refer to FDA’s guidance: "Overview of Medical Device Regulation: Premarket Submissions: Premarket Approval (PMA)"
Lower-risk devices undergo a less stringent regulatory review known as the 510(k) pathway. This does not require clinical data demonstrating efficacy or safety, only a showing that the new device is "substantially equivalent" to an existing legally marketed device in the United States. For more information, see FDA’s guidance: "Premarket Submissions: Premarket Notification 510(k)" (available at https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/premarket-submissions-selecting-and-preparing-correct-submission/premarket-notification-510k).
Such devices are typically referred to as FDA "cleared".
In addition, the FDA has exempted some lower-risk devices—such as heating pads and topical heating devices that emit infrared light (including all other REVO Red Light red light-related devices)—from the 510(k) premarket notification requirement (see the aforementioned FDA 510(k) guidance; 21 C.F.R. § 890.5550 (2018) (exempting infrared lamps); 21 C.F.R. § 890.5950 (2018) (exempting powered heating units)). These 510(k)-exempt devices do not undergo FDA regulatory review before being marketed.
Separately, the FDA requires manufacturers and distributors of medical devices in the United States to register annually and submit a device listing—a process known as "establishment registration and device listing" (21 C.F.R. § 807 (2018)). For details, refer to FDA’s guidance: "Device Registration and Listing" (available at https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/how-study-and-market-your-device/device-registration-and-listing).
The purpose of this registration requirement is to inform the FDA of the locations where medical devices are manufactured, enabling the agency to respond effectively to public health emergencies.

We explain electromagnetic fields (EMF) from the following four key aspects:
Radiofrequency (RF): With the exception of the Revo ProX, none of our devices are equipped with Bluetooth or WiFi transmitters. If desired, users can manually disable the Bluetooth function on the Revo ProX.
Magnetic Fields: Any electrical device operating on alternating current (AC) will generate a certain level of magnetic fields. This is why we describe our products as "Low EMF" rather than "Zero EMF". Our battery-powered devices (portable units, belts, helmets) run on direct current (DC) and produce no magnetic fields at all. Our plug-in light panels do emit a small amount of magnetic fields. We have consulted EMF experts and tested our plug-in panels using high-sensitivity, commercial-grade EMF measuring equipment — at the recommended usage distance, the magnetic field intensity ranges from 0.0 milligauss (mG) to approximately 0.5 mG (slightly above ambient background levels). For reference, the highly authoritative BioInitiative Report recommends an exposure limit of 1.0 mG for 24/7 continuous exposure, specifically for pregnant women and children. To provide a more intuitive comparison, the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) has set a general public exposure limit of 400 microtesla, which is equivalent to 4,000 mG! In summary, our devices emit little to no magnetic fields, with levels far lower than those of most household appliances.
Electric Fields: Tests have confirmed that no electric fields are generated on the surface of any of our device panels. In addition, the patent-pending Revo ProX comes standard with a shielded power cable to further minimize radiation exposure.
Flicker: Flicker is an inherent issue associated with alternating current (AC) operation. All our plug-in panels utilize specialized LED power drivers to completely eliminate flicker caused by AC. Our battery-powered products (portable units, belts, helmets) run on DC and have zero flicker.
Our devices are engineered to meet strict low-EMF standards. That said, it is important to note that any device carrying an electric current will produce some degree of electromagnetic fields. At the recommended usage distance of 6 inches or more, EMF emissions from our devices are undetectable.
Overall, our devices have significantly lower EMF levels compared to competing products. This is because our lights only incorporate the electrical components necessary to power and cool the LEDs, with no unnecessary additions such as Bluetooth or WiFi modules. A key point of concern is products that come with a dedicated "app". The use of such an app requires the device to continuously emit Bluetooth or WiFi signals, and in many cases, these devices may continue to transmit signals even when not in use! This means your living environment could be unknowingly exposed to 24/7 EMF pollution.
Yes, all Revo 300R units are equipped with a sturdy 180-degree integrated stand (as shown in the product photos). The REVO MINIR comes with a foldable kickstand, and you can also purchase an aluminum alloy universal stand as an optional accessory. Please refer to the product photos for detailed styles.
Some LED light panel manufacturers use a wide90-degree beam angle. The critical issue with an overly wide beam angle is that power density drops rapidly as distance increases. The angle at which light exits the source is the primary factor determining how quickly power density diminishes over distance. A 90-degree wide beam angle causes power density to weaken drastically—making it a suboptimal choice if you plan to use the light for larger areas (which requires sitting or standing further away from the device).
On the contrary, other manufacturers may opt for an extremely narrow 30-degree beam angle. This design typically demands LEDs to be packed closely together to avoid dark spots. While this might result in higher "peak" power readings, the devices themselves tend to be physically smaller due to the tight LED arrangement. Real-world user feedback indicates that even brief glances at 30-degree beam angle devices can be uncomfortable. At Revo, we consider 30-degree beam angle devices generally less safe and less user-friendly compared to those with wider angles.
Revo Red Light Panels are engineered with a precision 60-degree "sweet spot" beam angle— a key design advantage that sets Revo apart. This optimal angle ensures therapeutic-level power density is maintained even at greater distances, while maximizing usability, comfort, and safety for all Revo users. It’s a thoughtful balance that reflects Revo’s commitment to delivering effective, user-centric red light therapy solutions.
For our Revo 300R/900R and ProX Panels, you can purchase a dedicated floor stand for single-unit use. If you plan to run multiple panels simultaneously, the Universal Stand is the perfect pick.
We do not provide any wall mounts for our panels. We generally advise against wall-mounting the panels since many of our models are heavy, weighing more than 20 pounds.
We generally advise against using our lights in any sauna, as consistent exposure to high heat and humidity may shorten the LEDs’ service life.
Usage Questions
Product specific usage guidelines can be found in the User Manual:
While there is a growing body of scientific research suggesting that modest amounts of red and NIR LED light may benefit certain eye conditions, Revo Red's plug-in lights are very bright! When using, do not stare directly into the light emitting diodes (LEDs).
Eye protection is provided with each light and should be worn when facing the lights, particularly when NIR is active. The eye protection included is specifically designed for these wavelengths of light.
As an industry leader in red light therapy, Revo Red Light panel purchases now include two forms of eye protection: opaque protective goggles and high quality, comfortable IR3 lens glasses. For customers wanting maximum light attenuation we also offer for sale extremely dark IR5 lens glasses. At Revo, customer safety is our number one priority.

Also, when it comes to red light therapy...
More is not always better!
The benefits of red light therapy follow an inverted U-shaped response curve—more is not always better! The great thing about Revo Red Light devices is that you can reap the same benefits in less time compared to other products on the market.
For this reason, we recommend allowing at least 6 hours between treatments on the same area. We suggest no more than 15 minutes per session when using panel devices, and no more than 20 minutes per session for flexible devices. We recommend using your device 4–10 times a week, and taking at least one day off each week.
Red light gets absorbed by the skin, ramping up collagen production and relieving various skin conditions.
Near-infrared light penetrates deeper into the body, potentially promoting muscle relaxation, enhancing cellular vitality, and boosting overall recovery.
Near-infrared light can penetrate clothing to a certain extent, but red light cannot do so effectively. For this reason, we generally recommend exposing clean, bare skin to the light whenever the usage environment permits.
Since there is no clinical research on red light therapy applied to pregnant or nursing individuals, avoid using the device during pregnancy or lactation unless you have consulted with your healthcare provider first.
